  Brief Profile  

Born on September 09, 1990. Umar Naeem is enrolled in BSE in Civil Technology at the University of Lahore. He serves as a Vice President of Debating and Dramatic Society of University of Lahore. He took part in many debating competitions and represented Lahore and Sahiwal divisions in Chief Minister of Punjab’s debating competition (2009-10) on Punjab level and acquired third position. He has been awarded as a best debater and received 1st position in district Okara and division Sahiwal in 2009-10 respectively. He has also been awarded as best speaker in Urdu Parliamentary Debate at Lahore School of Economics in 2011, University College of Lahore in 2011 and University of Lahore in 2010. His interest includes painting and architecture, consolidation of democracy and democratic institutions, promotion of liberal values through art and peace activism.

Politically, Umar Naeem is affiliated with Green Party and is working as Youth Shadow Minister for Law, Parliamentary Affairs and Human Rights

Second Session
(24-04-2013)

Mr. Umar Naeem (YP48-PUNJAB31) and Mr Reyyan Niaz Khan (YP23-PUNJAB06) would like to move the following resolution. “This House is of the opinion that anyone involved in abrogating the constitution of Pakistan should be met with iron fist. It is imperative that the cases revolving around the violation of constitution must not be personalized and all the civilian and military people involved into the incidents of 1999 coup ex dictator and the November 3, 2007 emergency should be taken to task, so that justice may be done.”

Ms. Sitwat Waqar (YP12 - KP02), Mr. Umar Naeem (YP48-PUNJAB31) and Mr. Umar Awais (YP34-PUNJAB17) would like to move the following resolution:“This House is of the opinion that a stable Afghanistan is in Pakistan’s interest. It is imperative that Pakistan should have a clear and defined policy disregard of the US towards post 2014 Afghanistan. Pakistan shall support an all-inclusive afghan government representing different ethno, linguistic, sectarian and religious factions. Besides, Pakistan Government must pipeline there concerns through diplomatic channels.”

Mr. Umar Naeem (YP48-PUNJAB31) would like to move the following resolution: “This House is of the opinion that the government of Pakistan should ensure the implementation and enforcement of the prohibition of Smoking and Protection of Non-Smokers Ordinance 2002 and a special mechanism should be devised to ensure that the law to ban smoking for those under 18 is being fully implemented.”
