Youth Parliament Pakistan demands the Quick Dispensation of Justice

Islamabad, July 6, 2013; Youth Parliament Pakistan's fourth day of the third session began with a resolution moved Ms. Sitwat Waqar (YP12-KP02) Youth Shadow Minister for Foreign Affairs and Defence requesting the newly elected Government of Pakistan to take sheer steps to revise the existing anti terrorism legislative mechanisms to ensure better enforcement in its anti terrorism courts moreover holding speedy trials of over 7000 terrorists in detention. She was of the view that such examples should be set to subvert the roots of immoral exploitation of religious teachings in madrassas and mosques which provoke the youth towards terrorist behavior and activities. Ms. Momna Naeem (YP31-PUNJAB14) endorsed this resolution and suggested that the unequal distribution of punishment allotted to the culprits should be abolished and punishment should be given on level of crime performed.

Later Mr. Abdul Samad Khan (YP16-KP06) Youth Shadow Minister for Finance, Planning Affairs and Economics emphasized that the already accepted resolution moved by Mr. Hasham Malik (YP09-ICT01) on the elections of local Government should now be implemented within three months. He also moved a resolution in the House stating that the construction facilities should be provided in all public construction projects and technologies should be implemented leading to a 40% cost reduction However Mr. Rana Faisal Hayat (YP22-PUNJAB05) Youth Prime Minister was of the view that the resolution was not identifying the real cause requested the Speaker of Youth Prime minister Ms. Aseela Shamim Haq (YP49-SINDH01), to refer the resolution to the Standing Committee of Law, Parliamentary Affairs and Human Rights.

Ms. Bushra Iqbal Rao (YP60-SINDH12), Mr. Junaid Ashraf (YP01-AJK01) and Mr. Faizan Idrees (YP36-PUNJAB19) moved a resolution in the House to promote the culture entrepreneurship in the country which will help to generate employment opportunities in the country along with economic growth and development. The government has already made a few initiatives at a small scale, but it is the role of media that is required so that the culture of entrepreneurship could be promoted and the youth should be encouraged to take advantage of such initiatives. The resolution was passed unanimously.
