Youth Parliament Pakistan demands Government to take strict action against the Militants across the country

Islamabad, July 03, 2013: Youth Parliament Pakistan 2013 began its first day of the Third Session with the calling attention notices moved by Mr. Amin Ismaili (YP15-KPK05) to bring the attention of Youth Minister for Interior, Kashmir Affairs and GB towards the terror attacks near the base camp of Nanga Parbat which has portrayed a negative image of Pakistan internationally for tourists. Mr. Muhammad Khashif Khan Khichi (YP39-PUNJAB22) invited the attention of Youth Finance Minister towards the 17% increase in General Sales Tax (GST).

Later the House passed a resolution moved by Mr. Rafiullah Kakar (YP06-BALOCHISTAN05), Mr. Mateeullah Tareen (YP04-BALOCHISTAN03), Mr. Ahmed Salman Zafar (YP24-BALOCHISTAN07), Ms. Mehwish Rani (YP46-PUNJAB29) and Mr. Inam Ullah Marwat (YP14-KPK04) unanimously condemning the wave of terrorist activity across the country and taking proper measures to rescue the country and its people from such menace. Rana Faisal Hayat (YP22-PUNJAB05) also endorsed the resolution and was of the opinion that security agencies in Pakistan lack the ability to differentiate between the good and the bad Taliban. Ms. Zaib Liaqat (YP26-PUNJAB06) highlighted various solutions like counter extremisms training and collaboration of Army and Religious parties to use dialogue and give and take strategies to eliminate the menace caused to the sovereignty of Pakistan by terrorist activities.

The 5th Youth Parliament Pakistan is supported by the Danish International Development Agency, Government of Denmark as recognition of the importance of young people's involvement in democracy and democratic practices.
