Youth Parliament Pakistan elects new Prime Minister

Islamabad, July 05, 2013; The third day of the Youth Parliament Pakistan's third session began with the ascertainment of the new Youth Prime Minister. Mr. Rana Faisal Hayat (YP22-PUNJAB05) was elected as the Youth Prime Minister of the House. The new Prime Minister of the House Mr. Rana Faisal Hayat (YP22-PUNJAB05) and Opposition Leader Mr. Kashif Ali (YP51-SINDH03) appreciated the efforts of former Prime Minister Ms. Anam Asif (YP40-PUNJAB23).

The Leader of the House announced the Youth Cabinet. The cabinet members include:

Youth Minister for Law, Parliamentary Affairs and Human Rights, Mr. Asadullah Chattha (YP38-PUNJAB21); Youth Minister for Information, Mr. Ahmad Salman (YP24-PUNJAB07); Youth Minister for Finance, Economics and Planning Affairs, Mr. Muhammad Danish Raza (YP19-PUNJAB02); Youth Minister for Interior, Kashmir Affairs, GB and FATA, Mr. Muhammad Kashif Khan Khichi (YP39-PUNJAB22); Youth Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunication, Ms. Zaib Liaqat (YP26-PUNJAB09); Youth Minister for Foreign Affairs and Defence, Mr. Yasir Abbas (YP08-GB01) and Mr. Rao Sajjad Amjad (YP45-PUNJAB28) was elected as the General Secretary of the Blue Party.

Later, the House discussed "Next Generation Goes to Ballot Box 2013", where Mr. Ahmed Bilal Mehboob; President PILDAT urged that Youth of Pakistan is like a two ended sword if trained well, it can serve as an asset and if not than it serves as a liability for the country. He said that Youth is the backbone of this country and if the Youth is mobilized in the right direction then it can accelerate the country towards economic growth and development. Mr. Rafiullah Kakar (YP06-BALOCHISTAN05) was of the view that the core issue of Youth is the lack of quality education which leads to poverty, brain drain, terrorism and unemployment in the country where as Mr. Ishfaque Ahmed Rustamani (YP56-SINDH08) agreed with Mr. Rafiullah Kakar (YP06-BALOCHISTAN05) and said there are approximately 2000 schools are deprived of quality education which is causing continuous hindrance in the economic development. Ms. Sitwat Waqar (YP12-KP02) added that youth is getting education and learning skills but they lack a proper vision.

A resolution on energy crises was moved in the House by Mr. Amin Ismaili (YP15-KP05) which asked the Government to strive hard to deal with energy crises faced by the country and shift balance from Oil to coal and hydel in next five years. The resolution was passed unanimously in the House. Another Resolution was moved in the House by Mr. Reyyan Niaz Khan (YP23-PUNJAB06) and Ms. Momna Naeem (YP31-PUNJAB14) which requested the Government to take positive steps to help women attain the rights they deserve in society. The resolution was passed unanimously.
